Why Are We Named NeuroCactus?
Cacti are diverse and come in endless shapes, sizes, and colors. Most importantly, cacti are resilient.
They adapt to thrive in tiny pots, vast deserts, frigid cold and scorching heat. We see our clients with ADHD and autism the same way. You are uniquely wired and deeply capable but living in a world that isn’t built for neurodivergent minds.
We develop personalized adaptations, no matter the environment, using the strengths already within you. Together, we help you to shift from surviving to thriving.

Hello!
My name is Tarah, and I'm the coach behind NeuroCactus Coaching. I have a late diagnosis of AuDHD (both autism and ADHD), and I love reading about new research in the field in my spare time. If you think we might be a good fit, please book a free introductory call so we can discuss whether coaching is right for you.
FAQ
Yes! Although it's a nascent field, preliminary research (such as this study and this study) on ADHD coaching had these statistically significant results:
-
Improved ADHD symptoms and executive functioning deficits
-
Supported lasting growth and improvement
-
Improved overall well-being
Unfortunately, research on autism coaching focuses more on training caregivers to autistic children than direct coaching of autistic individuals. Only 1% to 2% of autism research funding in the US goes towards studying autistic adults with the other 98% going towards child and caregiver studies. Unfortunately, this means we can't point you to positive or negative studies on this topic, but given the fact that up to 70% of autistic individuals also have ADHD, most autistic clients would likely benefit from similar ADHD coaching techniques that are adapted to also fit their autism.
-
Coaching is likely a good fit if you meet the following criteria:
-
You have been formally diagnosed, self-diagnosed, or suspect you have ADHD, autism, or AuDHD with specific areas in your life where you need support.
-
Your mental health is stable enough for you to focus on self-improvement.
-
Your predominant challenges are due to ADHD or autism rather than another psychiatric comorbidity. While comorbidities are common, therapy is a better fit if severe depression, OCD, bipolar disorder, or something else is your primary concern on most days.
-
You are looking for targeted, customized interventions for specific problems over a fixed time period. Coaching is generally not meant to be indefinite and recurring, although it is not uncommon for previous clients to come back periodically for a “tune up” when they encounter new situations where they could use extra support.
-
Coaching is a completely unregulated field, so it is important to look for a coach who has voluntarily received credentialing and has direct experience with ADHD and autism. Beyond her own lived experiences with ADHD, autism, and comorbid autoimmune dysfunction, Coach Tarah has taken multiple courses which allow her to blend techniques from several coaching modalities. These are her qualifications:
-

This training focuses on the ADHD Works Executive Functioning Coaching Framework™️, which is grounded in neuroscience and developed through an ADHD lens to help clients develop practical skills for managing daily challenges.
